What does the future hold for online retails sales around the world? The future is very bright. Each quarter we see spending increase in online stores and each quarter there are new predictions from analysts. Amazon and eBay continue to grow and new consumers enter the marketplace each year. These consumers come from all over the world to virtual main street to do their shopping online. Analyst sometimes predict gloom and doom for the traditional retail channels and the mom and pop shops. What they miss is that all these companies have adapted their way of doing business and the playing field is now more even between the big guys and the little guys. Just like the stock market adjusts, the retail business is undergoing an adjustment too. It just happens to be at the same time we are having a down economy. That blurs the picture somewhat.
Your fingers still do the walking but now it’s with a mouse on the internet or it’s with your mobile device browsing and using an application to compare prices of similar products. When the dust settles and the online retail industry has reached the potential we expect it will the whole retail landscape will be different. The brick and mortar stores will still be there but they may be smaller and they too will have the advantage of advanced technology to help you shop. Convenience, service and pricing that is what the consumer wants and demands. That has always been the same it always will be the same. So you see the only that real change is the way in which business is conducted
You can still buy Ford Parts and Nissan Parts but the retailers are betting that you’ll choose the price, convenience and service you get online. So far they have been right on the button because consumers throughout the world are embracing technology and spending a whole lot more each day at online outlets. The sales numbers don’t lie and the merchants really couldn’t be happier because they reap the benefits at less cost than brick and mortar stores of the past and have a much bigger consumer base that can enter their store from anywhere in the world at any time during the day.
We’ve all heard that Vegas is a city the never sleeps. Well, the online stores are always open and the potential form this industry will put customers from all over the globe into a virtual world that sells real goods and services efficiently and at prices that are affordable. Don’t be fooled into thinking that brick and mortar no longer has a place in the retail industry. It will never go away. It just may have a slightly different look.
With the entrance of m-Commerce there are more changes coming down the road. You see it now. Everyone is texting, chatting and browsing on their Smartphone or I-phone. Maybe they’re reading a book on their Kindle. Well, charge up your Smartphone we’re going shopping!
